OBJECTIVE

To test the vocabulary skills of the students and to know how good they are in their vocabulary.

TEAM FORMATION AND SYNERGY

Varnika is a literary formed by us to in our college as a part of our STUDENTS SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECT. We were put into a group by our mentor Aji Sir in July and was asked us to to do a project. We were not given any topics but we had to choose the topic ourselves. We held many meetings and discussed on many topics but finally the idea of forming a literary club came up. All our group members agreed to this and thus VARNIKA THE LITERARY CLUB was formed.

The strength of our group was our unity and team spirit. We believed in perfection and to some extend this also helped us in making our events perfect and interesting.

CHALLENGES FACED

On our six months journey of creating and carrying out the activities of our club we faced many challenges.

The first challenge we faced was with the name of our club itself. We initially named our club "SRISHTI" but we had to change the name since there was already an existing literary club of the same name in Ettimadai so we name our club as " VARNIKA" meaning innovative writing.

The next challenge we faced was a reduction in the number of team mates. One of our team mate had to discontinue the semester due to illness, thus reducing our team strength from six to five.

The next one was the major challenge we faced. We decided to conduct two events. We conducted the first event on 25th October 2011 and were planning to conduct the second event on 29th October. We made posters and did all the publicity based on this date but suddenly a lab exam came up and we had to prepone our event to 27th October . We had make all the preparations and arrangements in one day. This was the major challenge we faced.

SUCCESS-FAILURE ASSESSMENT

  Even though we faced so many challenges and difficulties , our project was a great success. For both our events we got more participation than we expected.
The basic and key factor behind our success was our team spirit and unity. We always wanted perfection in what we do and this also lead to our success.

WRITING SKILLS

VERBAL SKILLS TEST: This was an objective test to conduct the verbal skills test of the students. Almost 120 students participated.

CREATIVE SKILLS : Under creative skills test we conducted the following competitions.
